Rules

Participants are informed that the judges of the competition may evaluate the individual treatment and please note that a treatment may be divided into several categories.

1. Each masseuse can participate in 1 or 2 categories.
2. Dress code: Participants can wear personal sponsor clothes or other national suits that fit the category. Participants must wear sports shoes, sports shorts or yoga pants, T-shirts etc.. Shoes are not permitted during Thai yoga massage.
3. No jewelry that’s going to come in contact with the client. . This obviously means rings, watches and bracelets, but includes long necklaces that can get in the way when you’re leaning close to your client. Finger nails must be short without nail polish.
4. The recipient of the massage must wear underwear at all times and have her chest covered (if she is a woman). Any area that is not being worked on must be covered / draped.
5. No cameras are allowed during the rounds and finals. Unauthorized use of cameras and recording may result in disqualification.
6. Insurance – it is your own insurance that covers both you and the competitor you are handling during the competition.
7. There is an absolute zero tolerance policy regarding inappropriate behavior. Any sensual/sexual massage would result in immediate disqualification and exclusion from the Championship.
8. All participants are required to receive and give massages. If required, Der Global Massage will arrange suitable candidates/massage recipients on a case by case basis.
9. Chiropractic and osteopathic manipulations are not allowed during the competition. The GGMC decides what music will be played during the massage competition. Most of it is inspired by the choice of who is an expert in the philosophical and spiritual part of massage.
10. The participants taking part in the GGMC competitions allow the organizers to publish the photos or videos Media are property of the organizers (GGMC).

11. Thai Category Specific Rules

    • The are 2 types of Thai Massage

      • Classic style : emphasize the basic posture of traditional Thai massage through stretching and reflexology according to the Thai traditional medicine.
        
        Classic should be on futon. 
        
        

      • Combination : blending Thai massage techniques with other disciplines such as yoga. A device such as a massage ball, bamboo, or herb may be used.
        
        This may include the choice of posture, use of equipment, and the benefits that the recipient will receive.
        
        A short script is required to explain the concept of the massage.
        
        The script must be consistent with the actual performance of the contestants, combining Thai massage with other sciences such as yoga.

        The script should specify the specifics of the pose selection, device use, and the benefits that the recipient will receive.
        
        Combination can be on futon or table, or both.

For Thai Classic or Combination, select the Thai Category when you register. 

Competition area

The competition area is divided into 4-5 massage areas. 20-30 massage tables are available, as well as 10 mattresses for Thai massage and 5 chairs for chair massage. The height of the tables will be adjusted by the participants. The location of the table/mattress/decisions regarding the competition will be made collectively within the jury group – to ensure that the competition is as fair as possible.

The participants must bring all other necessary equipment, including :

• Towels and cover for the recipient
• Hand sanitizer
• Cleaning wipes
• Massage oils

The Final

The duration of the final is 60 minutes

Categories

1. Nuad Thai (Traditional Thai, Thai Royal, Thai Warrior,Thai Acupressure ) Active + Passive Stretching massage without oil, creams or any kind of massage tools, massage table for this catagory is not permited ,
2. Wellness massage (Spa Style Massage, Hot Stone, Lomi Lomi Massage Aromatherapies Candle massage, Lymph drainage, Madero massage)
3. Western Massage (Classics or Holistic massage, Swedish massage Deep Tissue massage, Sport massage, Myofascial Release, PNF/MET joint articulation/ mobilisation Neuromuscular No Osteopathic/Chiropractic No tolls allowed)
4. Eastern / inspired (Asia Free style, Shiatsu massage, Tui Na massage, Thai Yoga, Bamboo massage, Tok Sen, Ayurveda / Indian massage Reflexology massage tools allow)
5. Western / inspired. (Free style massage Combination of different types of western massage methods, mobilisation, or massage tools allow, bodywork tolls allow)
6. Facial massage

Entry Cost

Entry in one category is 140 €

Entry in two categories is 250 €

Students /Group of 4 or more, for enrollment of 2 categories is 230 € per person.

Each participant can only enter a maximum of 2 categories
